NovoScuba
Community Guidelines
A few simple principles to help keep the NovoScuba community welcoming, useful and enjoyable for everyone.
Welcome to the NovoScuba community. We're glad you're here.
This is a place for divers, professionals and other members of the NovoScuba community to learn, share ideas, ask questions and help one another grow.
The NovoScuba Community
Your membership is the start of a journey with opportunities to expand your knowledge, skills and experience. We want the NovoScuba community to be a place where curiosity, collaboration and constructive discussion are encouraged.
We come from different countries, backgrounds and experience levels, but we share a passion for diving and the underwater world.
Be Curious
Ask questions, explore new ideas and keep learning. Being curious means being resourceful, looking for answers, sharing useful feedback and being open to different perspectives.
Be Kind
Help us create an environment where everyone feels safe and welcome. Keep your tone positive, your comments constructive and remember that this is a global community made up of people with different cultures, backgrounds, perspectives and levels of experience.
Be Helpful
Everyone learns at their own pace. Think about how your contribution can help others before you post.
You are encouraged to:
- Share your experiences and challenges
- Answer questions when you can help
- Provide useful resources
- Start constructive discussions
- Support other members
- Build positive connections within the diving community
Community Rules
We encourage members to share their thoughts and opinions, but always with respect for others and with consideration for how your words may affect them.
Be Kind and Respectful
Help us maintain a positive, welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions and providing feedback. Respect individual opinions and report inappropriate behaviour when necessary.
Give More Than You Take
The community is not a place for unsolicited promotion or lead generation. This includes spam, repeated self-promotion, unsolicited direct messages, impersonating instructors or administrators, or disguising sales activity as helpful content.
Content whose primary purpose is solicitation may be removed so the community can remain focused on useful discussion and learning.
Zero Tolerance for Harassment
You are welcome to challenge ideas respectfully, but never attack the person behind them.
Posts, comments or direct messages that are abusive, threatening, discriminatory, deliberately disruptive or otherwise inappropriate may be removed. Serious or repeated behaviour may result in removal from the community.
Keep It Relevant
The NovoScuba community exists primarily to support diving, learning and the wider NovoScuba community. Please keep discussions relevant to those goals.
Promotional material or unrelated courses, products or services may be removed where they do not contribute meaningfully to the community.
Breaches of These Guidelines
If you experience or witness behaviour that goes against these Community Guidelines, please contact us at community@novoscuba.com.
Reports are treated confidentially wherever possible.
In most cases, we will begin with a warning. Depending on the severity of the behaviour, or where there are repeated breaches, a member may be temporarily restricted or removed from the community.
We value open and constructive discussion and do not intend to remove posts or comments simply because people disagree. Moderation decisions are made by NovoScuba community administrators based on these guidelines and the context of each situation.
Welcome Aboard
We're excited to have you as part of the NovoScuba community and look forward to being part of your diving journey.
