You do not need to be a strong or competitive swimmer, but you should feel comfortable in the water. Your NovoScuba Professional will explain the swimming and floating requirements for your chosen programme.
Children can begin selected NovoScuba programmes from the age of 10. Divers aged 10 to 14 receive junior certification, while divers aged 15 and over receive the standard certification. There is no fixed upper age limit for healthy adults.
Scuba diving is a safe and enjoyable activity when you receive proper training, use suitable equipment and follow the guidance of your NovoScuba Professional. Your training is designed to build confidence gradually.
No. Most dive centres provide the equipment needed during training. As you gain experience, your instructor can help you decide which personal items or equipment you may eventually want to buy.
It depends on the programme and your schedule. Introductory experiences may take only a few hours, while full certification is usually completed over 2 - 4 days or spread across a number of weekends.
